Miss Penny

Watch her official introduction here

Penny became mine on October 12, 2025, when I picked her up in Pennsylvania (hence the name) during a 10-day National Parks road trip. After taking my time to find my next pup, I knew she was the one the moment I saw her face.

She’s smart, sweet, and just the right amount of sassy to balance her independent streak. Penny was a champ during her first five days on the road with me and settled right in at home—even with my house completely turned upside down by renovations. She already goes everywhere with me, and I’m pretty sure Sampson would have approved. I can’t wait to see how she grows and how her personality continues to unfold.

Miss Penny has her very own page on both TikTok and Instagram.  To keep up with her sweet and silly ways, be sure to follow along.

These simple windows allow your furry friends to check out what's going on around them. Simply mark where you'd like the window to be located on the wood fence and cut out the hole. This kit comes with the round lookout window and trim piece which is held together by nuts and bolts.

For an extra special touch grab some scrap wood and cut to size (mine are approximately 3" tall x 12" wide), paint your favorite color, and add your pet's name or something fun like shown here - Spoiled (and) Rotten.

We keep things simple around here, and these everyday dog essentials help make daily routines a little easier. In most cases, these are the exact items we use—or close equivalents that do the job just as well.

EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS

Sweet Sampson

a few of my favorite videos of him are below

I once heard someone call a dog their soul dog and remember thinking, what kind of weirdo says that? Then, when Sampson was twelve, his sister Lucy passed away and I had him to myself for the next four and a half years. During that time, I learned exactly what that term meant.

Sampson was truly the best dog I’ve ever had—sweet, smart, and incredibly easy-going. The older he got, the more relaxed and content he became. He was a favorite of anyone who followed his adventures, and getting to take him on my four-week cross-country trip was a gift I’ll always be grateful for.

He’ll always go down as one of the very best dogs there were.

I keep dog travel pretty simple, whether we’re on a road trip or just out and about. These are a few of my must-haves that make getting around with dogs easier.
